Council Members of the Chinese Chemical Society Visited LICP

On 14th October, 2009, Xi Fu, vice council chairman of the Chinese Chemical Society, Chang Fangzhi, vice secretary-general of the Society, senior engineer Bai Wenlu paid a visit to LICP at the invitation of Prof. Liu Weimin, director of LICP, vice secretary-general of the Chinese Chemical Society and council chairman of the Gansu Chemical Society. The visitors were acquainted with the development, history, research areas, faculty and staff, scientific innovation, achievement transformation, etc, of the Institute by Director Liu.

During their stay in LICP, the visitors exchanged views with Director Liu about the project application, major research fields of the laboratories, S&T achievements and achievements transformation. He said that it was the duty of the Chinese Chemical Society to unite personnel engaging in chemistry nationwide to promote the development and popularization of the chemistry science and technology, to raise the scientific literacy of social members and to make chemistry play a full role in enhancing the sustainable development of national economy and high-tech innovation. With the prominent achievements accomplished, he believed that, under the guidance of national science and technology policy, LICP would make greater contributions to the national S&T development and training of talents.

The Chinese Chemical Society is a legally registered academic and non-profit social organization founded by people engaging in chemistry, related subjects and chemical education voluntarily. It is a part of the China Association for Science and Technology and the major social force of the development of the chemical science and technology in China. 

During the visit, the visitors were accompanied by Fang Xiaojia, secretary-general of the Gansu Chemical Society and Zhao Rongsheng, the former secretary-general of the Gansu Chemical Society.
