The CBM(Compressed Baryonic Matter)-China meeting co-hosted by Institute of Modern Physics(IMP),CAS and Tsinghua University was held at the Department of Engineering Physics, Tsinghua University from November 2nd to 4th,2009. More than 60 scientists from NSFC, CAS, GSI/FAIR, BNL, LBL, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong Normal University, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics,CAS, Harbin Institute of Technology, and IMP attended the meeting. Prof. KANG Kejun(the vice president of Tsinghua University), delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Mr. JI Peiwen(the deputy director of Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at NSFC) and Mr. LIU Minghua (the deputy director of Bureau of Basic Sciences, CAS) addressed the meeting at the opening ceremony.

CBM is a large-scale experiment facility at FAIR for the researches on highly compressed nuclear matter. 26 lectures about CBM were presented at the meeting. Prof. Dr. Zbigniew Majka who is in charge of the physics research at FAIR introduced the latest progress at FAIR. Prof. Dr. Peter Senger, the spokesman of CBM, presented the status of CBM. Prof. XU Hushan, the vice director of IMP, gave a lecture about the Chinese contribution to FAIR. Physics researches to be performed at CBM and development of related technologies at various sections were also shown by other lecturers at the meeting. Thorough discussions were undertaken during the meeting.
