On November 22, Professor Duan Xue, academician of CAS, director of key laboratory of chemical effective utilization of the resources of Beijing University of Chemical Technology ,paid a visit to ISL, discussed about reasonable exploitation and utilization of resource of Qinghai lake accompanied by Chen Dongsheng, vice-chancellor of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Bian Shuguang ,deputy head of department, Qinghai province .

Academician Duan firstly visited the arts-and-crafts room of ISL, listened to the report given by Zhou Yuan ,who is deputy director of scientific research management office of ISL, on formation conditions of salt lake, resource status of Qinghai salt lake, development history of ISL, historical contribution and scientific work in recent years. In the end, academician Duan readily captioned for the showrooms : salt lake chemical, translating resource advantage into economic advantages.

Subsequently, academician Duan discussed with some scientists of ISL at conference room on 5floor. He firstly introduced the purpose of the trip, he hoped to get proper suggestion and opinion on utilization of resource of Qinghai salt lake, in order to perfect the consulting report, so as to provide consultation on scientific national macro decision. Participants of ISL talked with visiting experts around their own areas of scientific research, emphatically on basic research of salt lake science, technology development, industrial upgrading and regional economic development etc, and emphatically discussed in environmental problems in the process of developing the salt lake resource and sustainable utilization of resource
