On November 10, 2009, the 2009 Awarding Ceremony of Ho Leung Ho Lee(HLHL) Foundation, together with the celebration for its 15th anniversary, was held at the Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. LIU Yandong (State Councilor and Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee), WAN Gang (Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology) and other leaders attended the ceremony and awarded the prizes to the winners. LIU Yandong delivered her address at the ceremony. Prof. WANG Demin won the 2009 HLHL prize for Scientific and Technological(S&T) Achievements. 30 scientists won the HLHL Prize for S&T Progress, and 15 received HLHL Prize for S&T Innovation. Dr. XIA Jiawen from Institute of Modern Physics(IMP),CAS was honored with the HLHL Prize for S&T Progress.

　　Dr. XIA is the third HLHL Prize laureate at IMP after the former two ones, Academicians WEI Baowen and ZHAN Wenlong.
