On March 11, 2010， Prof. Li Zhigang, the discipline inspection leader to Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) visited the research center of the clinical trial of tumor therapy at the Institute of Modern Physics(IMP),CAS.

　　Prof. LI Zhigang has been paying close attention to the construction of the Cooling Storage Ring(CSR) project of the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanhou (HIRFL) and the progresses made in heavy ion cancer therapy. Prof. XIAO Guoqing, the director of IMP and Prof. ZHAO Hongwei, the vice director of IMP introduced the treatment results and status of the heavy ion cancer therapy studies at IMP. Prof. LI Zhigang was very pleased to know that the construction of the heavy ion tumor therapy project started in Lanzhou recently and quite a few well-known enterprises have shown interest in the investment in heavy ion cancer therapy. He spoke highly of the achievements made by IMP in the research on heavy ion cancer therapy.
