Vice president of the Lanzhou Branch of the CAS WANG Xueding presided over the meeting. The related personnel of the LICP attended the meeting. They appraised the work of present leaders and nominated the reserve cadres.

　  On behalf of the current leadership, director LIU Weimin made the work report of LICP during the past few years. The report included the sci-tech strategic plans and implementation, projects undertaken and their progress, system reform, construction of research platforms, building-up of human resources, party construction, planning of future, etc. 

　  Vice President SHI Erwei then made an important speech concerning LICP’s development. He pointed out that, LICP has achieved significant progress in many aspects during the tenure of the present leadership. Though located in the underdeveloped northwestern part of China, LICP has overcome the difficulties and formed the development path with its own distinctive characteristics. He encouraged LICP to further emancipate the mind and strengthen core competence to make more contributions to the society and eventually to better serve the people.
