The commendation meeting for labor models and advanced workers in Gansu, hosted by CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Gansu Provincial Government, was held in Lanzhou, China on April 28, 2010, with 237 honored as Pioneer Workers and 146 awarded the title of Gansu Advanced Workers. Prof. ZHANG Yuhu from Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), CAS is honored as Gansu Advanced Worker. 

　Prof. ZHANG has been working at the forefront of scientific research since he came back China from overseas in 1992. He proposed and conducted the Experimental Study on Nucleus Structure for Deformed Odd-Odd Nucleus, and has made significant achievements in this field through the cooperation with domestic and international scientific institutions.  He has published over 50 academic papers in the well-circulated core journals in the world. He won the first prize of 2004’ Gansu Science & Technology Progress Award for his achievements in 2004 and the second prize of National Natural Science Award in 2007.
