Prof. XIAO Guoqing, the director of IMP, delivered the welcome speech at the meeting. Prof. ZHANG Hong, the head of the CAS key laboratory, gave a presentation on the status and further development of the laboratory, followed by 5 academic lectures. 　　

The meeting focused on the issues concerning the development plan,　research direction, cooperation and exchange, evaluation standards of the research results for the key laboratory, etc. Beneficial proposals for the further development of the laboratory were proposed at the meeting. The academic committee members evaluated and approved the first open projects of the key laboratory.

Prof. ZHOU Pingkun, the director of the Academic Committee of theCAS Key Laboratory of Heavy Ion Radiation Biology and Medicine, presided the meeting. Prof. CAI Jianming from the Second Military Medical University, Prof. HU Yimin, the chief radiologist from Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences,　and Prof. SHAO Chunlin from Institute of Radiation Medicine, Fudan University attended the meeting.
