The opening ceremony of 2010 Experimental Nuclear Physics Summer School was held jointly by Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), CAS and Lanzhou University at the campus of Lanzhou University on 7 August.
Vice president of Lanzhou University addressed the opening ceremony. Prof. XU HuShan, the deputy director of IMP and Prof. CHEN Ximeng, director of School of Nuclear Science and Technology, Lanzhou University, presented invited lectures. Prof. LIU Weiping, the vice president of China Institute of Atomic Energy(CIAE) was invited to attend the opening ceremony.
The summer school, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and supported by IMP, Lanzhou University, Peking University, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics(SIAP),CAS and CIAE, would undergo for 20 days. More than 110 people participated in the summer school. They are from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Lanzhou University, CIAE, IMP, SIAP and other renowned institutions. The summer school comprises lectures and field trip. Participants will visit the National Laboratory of Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou(NLHIRFL), China National Nuclear Corporation and Lanzhou University.
