During the Conference, more than 40 papers were collected, among which 10 were provided by the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), CAS. Twenty-seven experts engaging in the chemistry and development of plant resources from home and abroad were invited to give reports. The reports covered a wide range of areas, such as new materials and techniques for the analysis of plant composition, discovering and characterization of plant composition, research on and development of medicinal plants, which demonstrated the latest research progress in phytochemistry, analysis of plant composition and evaluation of the activity of plants both at home and abroad.　　 

 After the reports, the conference participants visited the exhibition room and Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources of the CAS.

The Conference was hosted by the CAS and organized by the LICP and the Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources of the CAS.

The honorary chairman and chairman of the Conference was Prof. XUE Qunji, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Prof. LIU Weimin, director of the LICP respectively. On behalf of the organizers, ZHAO Xiuru, vice-director of the LICP delivered the opening remark. Prof. WANG Qihua, read the congratulation letter sent by the Bureau of Personnel and Education of the CAS. WANG Zhe of the Eder Institute of Pharmacology of America gave a speech on behalf of the participants. The Conference was presided over by Prof. SHI Yanping, assistant director of the LICP and director of the Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources of the CAS.

Introduction to the Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources of the CAS:

Basing on the major needs in population health, sustainable development of northwestern plant resources, the Laboratory mainly carries out the applied basic and high-tech research on characteristic northwestern plant resources and their application, such as the research on new materials and methods for separation and analysis, discovery and characterization of natural products from plant resources, application of the resources in medicine, health care and resource protection.
