The 4th session of fifth academic committee of the State key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering was held in Lanzhou on Dec. 16 to 18. 

Executive Deputy Director Wu Qingbai gave a report to attendees, including the science research projects, progresses, achievements, talents constructions, academic communications and cooperation at home and abroad, funds management and problems of the State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering. 

Otherwise, scientists from Lanzhou University and Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute gave academic reports on frozen soil research in Heihe Basin, freezing and thawing remote sensing observation, assimilation method and the mapping study of frozen soil and roadbed research of frozen soil, and so on. 

Finally, members of the academic committee reviewed the opening funds of the State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering in 2013.
