July 8, the book launch of “Sixty Years Salt Lake Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences” was held in ISL. This book was edited by scientists consisting of 60 people from ISL. Three generations researchers of ISL spent more than a year editing this book. The launch was hosted by party secretary of ISL Yanming Hu.

Vice chairman of the CPPCC National committee and vice chairman of National Democratic Construction Association, Peihua Ma and Governor of Qinghai Province, Peng Hao together for the unveiling of the new book. Yong Kuang, vice governor of Qinghai province, Yongwu Li, president of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Qingshi Zhu, academician of CAS, Mianping Zheng, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, related leaders of Qinghai Province, colleges and institutes of CAS, staffs and graduate students of ISL attended this launch. Dongping Duan, deputy director of ISL introduced the process and significance of its publication.

This book reviews the struggle process, summarizes basic and applied research, extraction, separation and comprehensive utilization of salt lake resources, high-value products, and momentous industrialized technology, and elucidates the value and role of salt lake science and technology in national economic development and technological innovation.
