The 18th international quaternary geology conference will be held on July 21-27, 2011 in Switzerland, more than one thousand or so geological researchers from all over the world attend the conference which is held every four years.

Four graduates of ISL have been invited to give the oral report, they are: Long Hao (research field in evolution chronology and environment change of China arid and Africa and the Middle East salt lake), Dr Sun Yongjuan (research field in human activities and environment change of the northeast Qinghai-Tibetan plateau), Zhang Jingran (doctor, grade one ,research field in salt lake evolution and environment change of arid and semi-arid region of China).Zhang Biao(research field in glacier evolution of the eastern edge of the Tibetan plateau and Mongolia).Their scientific research have started around the leading edge of international academicand have attracted the attention of international counterparts. Long Hao, Sun Yongjuan and Zhang Jingran have published several articles as the first author on international authoritative publication (such as Quaternary Research, IF= 2.7; Quaternary Geochronology, IF=2.8, and The Holocene, IF = 2.5, etc. )They are all students of Lai Zhongping researcher. Lai Zhongping is also invited to give oral reports.
