The Layout Method of Wind Farm Groups Won the National Invention Patent

Recently, Dr. Chen Bolong who studies in CAREERI, CAS, focus on the theoretic blank space of wind farm groups in planning and construction on the international, used the theory of atmospheric boundary layer and atmospheric dynamics, built the mathematical physical model of wind farm, studied the whole wake effects and wake distance of the wind farm by the model analysis, which was under the direction of Prof. Gao Xiaoqing. This method won the National Invention Patent (Patent number: ZL201210035130.X).  

With the increasing of global energy crisis and environmental crisis, the development of renewable energy has become an effective means, which response to the global energy crisis and environmental crisis. Wind energy resources development is an important content of the renewable energy development. It was a blank space that the optimization layout theory of the wind farm groups of thousands of kilowatt in the planning and construction interiorly. The layout of wind farm groups refers to rational design and optimize of the wind farm’s distance of each other, the main purpose is to maximize utilization of wind energy resource, reduce the effect of the upstream to the downstream, and improve the efficiency of wind farm and the utilization of land on the downstream.  

The research mainly has the following results, it elicit the horizontal wind velocity of the hub height at the wind outlet and the whole wake distance of wind farm, the distance is decided by the layout parameter and scale parameter of classification in wind power plant; under the condition of parameters are determined, we can ascertained the whole wake distance by mathematical physical model of the wind farm. The research achievements make an important guiding significance to the planning, site selection and construction of large wind farm group.
